The This, the That, and The Is

When cosmic forces serve to amplify the polarities,

And tension builds between the polars of the opposites,

Certainty, within the auspices of logic,

Begs questions of positive, and of negative,

Drawing upon contrast and comparison,

Colouring determinations in black and white,

And shades, based on right and wrong.

It is this false artistry,

That which is premised in good or bad,

Affixing to either the this, or the that,

Rather than in the exclusive truth of what is,

That abstractly inks the incoherent canvas of the mind,

In brush strokes directed by a pendulum,

Upon the easel of cyclical time in the sufferance of confusion,

All in the search for the neutrality of 'The Is’,

That resides at the centrepoint, the in-between.
