There are a number of prescient factors in play, that inevitably determine whether or not this dart will hit the bull’s eye. There’s those I have full bio-mechanical control over, and then influences upon the passage of the dart, that I simply don’t.
All I can do is everything within my power to ensure that I have fulfilled my part of the equation. Once the dart has left my hand and is flying toward the target, all there is to do is to trust, that all the other factors will be in divine alignment.
Curiously, the simple act of intending that the dart strike the geometric centre of the dart board, brings analogies that closely mirror the evolving human experience of life.
For it is true that we cannot manipulate everything, we can only work to control our own inner world, and learn to master the forces that oscillate within.
Paradoxically, when we do this, we perceive of our environment differently, and discover that the world around us eventually changes. Things appear to manifest in our favour, they more frequently ‘fall our way’, and through this journey we hit the bull’s eye with more regularity, rather than relying on the shallow will of chance.
Have I always hit bull’s eyes in my life? No, of course I haven’t, however, admittedly I’ve always been prepared to try, and try again. I’ve been willing to learn from many near misses, and from a multitude of monumental mistakes. I’ve diligently applied myself, slowly but surely cultivating a capacity to move in accord with the natural flows, to adjust my trajectory when it’s required, and to tune into my immediate environment.
It’s an infinite process of refinement, until which day I become adept in the mastery of forces, and one able to play the perfect game.
